Set Yourself Apart
My program provides Snare Drum and Drum Set lessons to drummers of all ages and levels in Mid-Missouri areas such as Jefferson City and Rolla. Each drum lesson is tailored to suit the needs of the student and can be scheduled in 30, 45, and 60 minute sessions.
Areas of study include reading, technique, stick control, dexterity, and playing by ear. Snare drum lessons focus on rudiments, contest snare solos, playing with an orchestra and drum corps techniques. Drum set lessons focus on popular styles such as Rock, Christian, Jazz, Fusion, Latin, Blues, and Country. Students are encouraged to learn songs of his or her choice and receive awards for the successful completion of each drum instruction book.
With regular practice, students can be playing some of his or her favorite songs within 3 to 6 months of beginning drum instruction. I have hundreds of note for note drum transcriptions of music from the 1960s to current releases. New songs are added weekly!
Lesson Areas
If you or your student resides within the Mid-Missouri area, lessons can take place in the comfort of your own home and drum set or in my studio during the week. Each Saturday, I host lessons at Will West Music and Sound, located in Jefferson City, to better serve my students.
Lesson Fees
30 minutes $35.00 $22.00 my house
45 minutes $45.00 $33.00 my house
1 hour $55.00 $44.00 my house
Lesson Fees are based on the number of calendar lesson days each month, excluding holidays. Lessons that fall on holidays may be rescheduled at the student’s request. Lesson payment is collected on the first lesson of every month.
CANCELLATION POLICY
Remember, when you begin instruction, it is a reserved time.
If you miss a lesson, a 24 hour notice is required in order for a make-up to be offered. Please remember that I have a full schedule and you may have to wait for someone else to cancel in order to make-up your missed lesson. This may take a few weeks for an appropriate time to be available. It is a courtesy that make-up lessons may be offered and must be at my convenience.
Therefore, please use discretion when canceling a lesson. Notification of a lesson cancellation is a courtesy to the instructor but does not exclude payment.
STUDENT VACATION POLICY
Students are allowed two vacations per year. Advance notice must be given. Vacation credits can’t be used for missed lessons. Lesson charges will not apply when I am on vacation.
HOLIDAYS
No lessons will be scheduled on the following holidays, New Years Eve, New Years Day, Memorial Day, Fourth of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, and Christmas Day. There are no charges on holidays.
SNOW DAYS
I do not follow the public school snow closings. During inclement weather you still need to call and cancel in order to receive a make-up lesson if you are taking lessons at my house.
